Adrenocorticotropic Hormone (ACTH or corticotropin) is a polypeptide hormone synthesized from POMC, (Pro-opiomelanocortin) and secreted from corticotropes in the anterior lobe of the pituitary gland in response to Corticotropin-releasing Hormone (CRH) released by the hypothalamus.
